Shabbos Vayak'hel

Dvar Torah On Parshas Vayak'hel

Tiere Reb Pinchas, Askonim, friends and family Sheyichyu,

שלום וברכה

When Learning This weeks Parsha, we find a very basic lesson in the way we are do our work during the six days of the Week.

The Posuk Says; "Shaishes Yomim Taioseh Melocho" which is Translated to mean -For six days you will do the work -.

The Literal translation is -for six days the work will be done- (by itself)!
There is a difference between the word "Taaseh" which means "You will do the work"

and the word "Taioseh" means "the work will done by itself."

Obviously, the difference is Huge.

A Lesson from the Parsha:

Our Parsha begins with “ Kee Sisoh Es Roish B'nai Yisrael” - When you will Raise the heads of the Yidden -

Raising the Head of a Yid comes from learning Torah, by filling our Heads with Torah we are Raised onto a higher plane!

Rashi Explains; before the gravest mistake of the golden calf was able to be made, two things needed to be going on:

Shabbos Vayishlach

Dvar Torah On Parshas Vayishlach

Tiere Reb Pinchas, Askonim, Friends & Family Sheyichyu,

Sholom Uvrocho,

A couple of weeks ago on Roish Choidesh Kislev I was by a Farbrengen and we discussed the importance of Emunah and Bitochoin. After the Farbrengen someone took me to the side to discuss a private situation.

A relative of his is very sick, Rachmono Litzlan, and the doctors who had been treating him informed the family that they had exhausted all medical options and approaches and they need to prepare for what is coming because there is nothing more that can be done. The Yid asked me if the Mitzvoh of Bitochoin applied in this situation. Were they still expected to trust that Hashem would heal their family member?

Shabbos Vayeitzei

Dvar Torah On Parshas Toldos

Tiere Reb Pinchas, Askonim, Friends & Family Sheyichyu,

Sholom Uvrocho,

Our Parsha begins by repeating the start of Yaakoiv Ovinu’s journey: "Vayeitzei Yaakov Mibi’air Shova, Vayeileich Choronoh" - And Yaakov left from Bi'air Sheva and went to Choron.

As we know, the Torah doesn’t tell us stories - it gives us guidance and lessons, occasionally in the form of stories. This is why so many things which surely happened are not recounted in the Torah and it also gives significance to the repetition of those anecdotes which are repeated. Each telling is another lesson, one we can find by looking closely at the wording and the details.

Shabbos Toldos

Dvar Torah On Parshas Toldos

Tiere Reb Pinchas, Askonim, Friends & Family Sheyichyu,

Boruch Hashem we are now in month of Kislev, a time of happiness, joy and miracles. We are energetically preparing to celebrate a full year since the wonderful Neiss of Zois Chanuko with a Kinus Hoido’o, and I hope those that can join us will do so, so we can once again celebrate together in the spirit of Achdus and Simcho we felt that night and which we will all never forget.

Shabbos Chayei Sarah

Dvar Torah On Parshas Chayei Sarah

Tiere Reb Pinchas, Askonim, friends and family Sheyichyu,

This week is Shabbos Mevorchim Kisleiv and we are nearing the one year anniversary of the great miracle which I experienced and which we all witnessed on Aleph, Beis, Gimmel Teiveis last year. In the course of preparing for a great celebration, where we can come together in thanks and praise to Hashem for His kindness and His mercy, I am remembering all that happened and reviewing notes, letters, documents, pictures, videos from that time.

Shabbos Ki Savo

Dvar Torah On Parshas Ki Savo

Our Parsha begins with the Mitzvoh of bringing Bikurim, the first fruit, to Hashem, thanking and praising Him for the good we are given. This is obviously not limited to fruits - the Toiroh is teaching us to to recognize that everything we have is from Hashem Yisboraich and that we should thank and praise Him.

Boruch Hashem I had the great Zchus to give thanks and praise to Hashem Yisboraich in Eretz Yisroel. Each day was uniquely holy and uplifting in a way that is impossible to feel in any other place! I tried to use every moment to thank Hashem Yisboraich by publicizing the Neiss he performed for me on Zois Chanukoh. :)

Shabbos Ki Teitzei

Dvar Torah On Parshas Ki Teitzei

Boruch Hashem, I am still in Eretz HaKoidesh, running from place to place meeting all the precious Yidden who Davened for me for so long. There isn’t a free moment to sit down and write at any length, but I am sure that once I return I will have the opportunity to share the many special moments and lessons in Avoidas Hashem I am experiencing in Eretz Yisroel.

For now, here is another excerpt from a letter on Elul and the Parsha from the collection of letters my devoted children are preparing in gratitude to Klal Yisroel. The book will B’Ezras Hashem be available in Jewish bookstores and can already be ordered on the website.

Shabbos Shoftim

Dvar Torah On Parshas Shoftim

Boruch Hashem I was Zoicheh to a big Neis this week. I received Hashem’s permission to visit Eretz Yisroel, so I also received the permission of the relevant authorities down here. They even exerted themselves to ensure that I got my passport - it was a fulfillment of the Possuk “Gam Oyvov Yashlim Itoi“ - Also his adversaries will make peace with him, becoming allies.

Shabbos Aleph Rosh Choidesh Elul

The Month of Yud Gimmel Middos HoRachamim, when the King is in the Field

In addition to the preparations for the month of Elul, which are themselves preparations for the month of Tishrai, I have also been spending a lot of time on other preparations. In appreciation to Hashem Yisboraich for returning me to my family and taking me out of a place called Prison, and also in appreciation of everything my fellow Yidden did to help me, I have been preparing to print a book of the letters I wrote from a place called Prison which discuss the Avoidoh of Elul and Tishrei, or which describe my experiences and the lessons I took from them.

Dvar Torah On Parshas Aikev

Shabbos Mevrochim Choidesh Elul
The Month when the King is in the Field

Boruch Hashem we are in the Seven Weeks of Consolation, the time when we read the Haftoirois where Hashem comforts the Yidden. :) Do you know how the Yidden can be comforted? By giving us our Geuloh Shlaimoh with Moshiach Tzidkainu! :) Only then will we be able to see all the Infinite Light we brought into the world with our Avoidas Hashem by learning Toiroh and doing Mitzvois! We do our part to hasten that Nechomo through our Aleph = Emunah and Beis = Bitachoin which brings the Gimmel = Geuloh! :)

Letter For Shabbos Nachamu

The following is an exerpt of a letter describing Tisho B'Ov in a place called prison:

Fasting is associated with the added pain of not eating, so someone "jokingly" asked me, "Since

it’s so painful to be in a place called prison, is there also a need to fast?" Of course, the answer is Yes! We do exactly  what Shulchan Aruch says to do! :)

Acknowledging that this is a painful place to be, a better version of that the question might be[1]  "Will the pain of fasting even be noticed over the pain felt in a place called prison?"

or "Since the fasting and mourning on Tisho B'Ov is to remember the Churbon and Golus, how does experiencing a Churbon and Golus every day, Effect Fasting in a place called Prison?"

Shabbos Devorim

Dvar Torah On Parshas Pinchas

Boruch Hashem I was able to take part in the amazing, miraculous Celebration of Thanksgiving for Hashem’s Salvation, the Seudas Hoidoyoh made for the young Laizer Galperin in Lakewood last night! :) I was able to actually see him, shake his hands and give him a great big hug! This was another moment that added to my gratitude and praise to Hashem Yisboraich for all the great Nissim and wonders that lead to my being freed from the place called prison. It was only around one short year ago that Laizer had his Bar Mitzvah and I could only “join” from afar with the cruelly limited phone call and I was so happy to be there in person.

Shabbos Matos Masai

Dvar Torah On Parshas Pinchas

ברוך השם  We are concluding Chumosh במדבר  with the Parshiyois of מטות מסעי  and we all shout out

חזק חזק ונתחזק  - be strong, be strong, and be strengthened - because we take the strength (of Parshas Matois) in all the journeys of our life (Parshas Masai), not only to protect ourselves from negative effects of the trials and tribulations in life, but to actually transform them into  journeys, מסעי, towards Eretz Yisroel (Kedusha) through which we grow even closer to השם יתברך  than before! The most important thing to do is to stay focused on the essence, and not the way the essence is revealed or expressed.

ברוך השם this שבת  we read about the reward that הקב"ה  gave פנחס  for his selfless devotion to stop the opposite of a  קידוש השם with total  מסירת נפש. Shabbos B'Haaloscho

A D'var Torah On Shabbos Parshas B'Haaloscho

There was once a man from humble beginnings who became tremendously wealthy. He was asked to explain how he had become so wealthy.

"Well, " he began, "I have always been very careful with my money. I worked very hard, and kept very long hours I would forego even the small pleasures in life which slowly add up. I worked even on days when the office was closed. I patched my clothes rather than buy new ones unless I absolutely had to.”

“Year after year I continued in this way and saved every penny I could. After continuing like this for two and a half decades, a rich uncle of mine passed away without leaving any children and I inherited his fortune and this is how i became a rich man."
